‘Beni’ is the pigment of Safflowers which came to Japan across the sea, in the ancient times. High quality “Beni “that has been purified by the ash of goosefoot and acid of plum, glitters with a green colour at after drying. The technique to extract the “Beni” has been handed down in secrecy.
