TONY KEARNS – BIOGRAPHY

From 1989 to 2005 he specialised in cutting music videos in London. In that time he edited videos for

The Prodigy (Firestarter, Breathe) Blur (Parklife, The Charmless Man) Pulp (Disco 2000, This Is Hardcore) Radiohead (Just) The Chemical Brothers (Block Rocking Beats, Believe), Coldplay (The Scientist) Manic Street Preachers (Design For Life) and many more.

More recent projects are Kodaline ‘All I Want’ and ‘High Hopes’, both directed by Stevie Russell and Antony and The Johnsons ‘Cut The World’, featuring Willem Dafoe, Carise van Houten and Marina Abramovic, directed by Nabil.

He has edited TV and cinema commercials in Dublin, London and Paris since the late 1990s for brands such as Lynx, Peugeot, Diesel Fragrance, Foster’s Lager, Vodafone, Irish National Lottery, Dyson, Aviva.

He has edited short films since 1999 and I have worked on a number of feature film projects as editor since 2010. These features include:

CHARLIE CASANOVA, written & directed by Terry McMahon and starring Emmett Scanlan. Selected for SXSW 2011 and nominated in five categories 2011  IFTAs.

CITADEL, written & directed by Ciarán Foy and starring Aneurin Barnard & James Cosmo. Winner Audience Award SXSW 2012.

KELLY+VICTOR (2012) directed by Kieran Evans from the novel by Niall Griffiths (shared credit). Selected for SXSW 2013. Winner of the BAFTA award for the best debut by a director, producer or writer 2014.

STANDBY directed by Rob & Ronan Burke and starring Jessica Paré (Mad Men) and Brian Gleeson (The Stag). Shared credit LET US PREY directed by Brian O’Malley. Starring Liam Cunningham (Game of Thrones, Hunger) and Pollyanna McIntosh (The Woman). Winner of the Melie Award for Best European Horror Brussels International Fantastic Films Festival.

MOON DOGS directed by Philip John (Downton Abbey, Outlander).

CARDBOARD GANGSTERS directed by Mark O’Connor and starring John Connors.

THE LODGERS directed by Brian O’Malley. Currently in post production.
