“Kyanq”, meaning “life” in Armenian, is a dream-like, 5-minute-long video that starts with up-and-coming skater Alexander Rademaker waking up in the middle of Yerevan, Armenia’s capital city. He picks up his board and starts exploring the country, from Yerevan’s monumental architecture to smaller, more traditional cities such as Gyumri and Goris. Set in urban and rural settings, the film follows his adventures and portrays Armenia from a new perspective: that of a young skateboarder discovering a new world trapped in reverse.
